flow festival 2012 kicked off yesterday, and was it a good start? not for mtok at least! if i had the feat of time travel, i would used it and rather have been in an old house with 1000 rusty and squeaky doors / windows in a terrible storm than on the opening concert...
but fear not, the friday is miles better. especially since a mohawk styled band had to cancel and darren j. cunningham, aka actress, came to replace them. his latest album, "r.i.p.", has some of the most interesting sound that i've heard for years, but will it be good live? time will tell, and that time starts on friday at 00.30 in the voimala club.
the good stuff doesn't stop there! the gig that im mostly looking forward to at the whole flow 2012 is in fact a dj set or rather two good friends playing back to back! how can you resist the chance to enjoy caribou and four tet spinning record together!?! dont miss out on this, starts 23.15 in the black tent.
the third and final (possibly) great gig on friday evening is onehtrix point never. once again this assumption is based on the latest album to the artist, a bit similar to actress - but then again totally different! definitely one to check out! how can i resist an artist that makes a video out of my favourite russian cartoon?!? starts at 00.00 at cirko.
