A few days after Madonna was called a "lecturing wh*re" by Dmitry Rogozinon on Twitter after throwing her support for the jailed Pussy Riot members, several Flow artist did the same yesterday.
First out, and not so well executed, was the Friends lead singer Samantha Urbani. She was wearing a t-shirt which stated "Pussy Riot", but it got a bit embarrassing when she open up her mouth and clearly didnt really have a clue what was going on in Russia...
The second artist of the day that declared their support was Feist. Very classy support I have to say, just a banner stating "Free Pussy Riot". It was hanging on stage the whole time she was playing, so there wasnt any need to talk about it. Well done Feist!
The support climax was reached when Björkended her encore by dedicating the song "Declare Independence" to Pussy Riot, and gave the band a standing invitation to preform it with her in the future. It was just amazing when approx 10.000 people tried to compensate for missing the Pussy Riot members by singing the song together with Björk! An amazing end of the gig!!!
update: Bjørk has now shared this video on her FaceBook page, so I guess its ok....
A note about the video under. It is uploaded by PitchFork, but is a bit dodgy! Before the gig it was shown a pledge from Björk that she hoped that there wouldnt be any taken photo or filming during the show since this is very disturbing for her and the rest of the audience! So I guess it is a "fan" that have got a buck here...
