Björk will release her new album "Biophilia" later this year. It might be in the beginning of July when she is going to do the premier of the live show at Manchester International Festival, but as usual no one know the exact date...
But the interesting part with this release is that the album will not only come in an organic form (cd), but also as apps for iPad. To help her compose some of the songs she apparently used an iPad. Each of the 10 songs will have their own apps incorporated in a mother application. The only known track name is "Virus". It will be a game where you have to prevent a virus from killing a cell, but to listen to the whole song you actually have to lose the game...
The album will also include several music videos, with at least on directed by Michel Gondry.
I know that Björk always been leading the way when it comes to using new technology, but have she gone a bit too far this time? How many Björk fans is going to buy an iPad just to get the full experience of the album? She has also launched a new website, and to get it to run smoothly I had to download Google Chrome!
apple + björk + google = biophilia?
