16 years is a long time to wait for something, but when you finally get to experience it - time really doesn't matter!

In the summer of 1995 I borrowed the Leftism album from a friend, and used approx 2 minutes to decide that this album was a must. Back then we in fact bought CD's! Ever since I have had an urge to go and see them or to a club were a DJ would play some of the more danceable tunes from the album, but that never happened. So when I saw that Leftfield (without Paul Daley) would play at Oslo Live Festival, I ordered tickets straight away!

The good vibes for the concert started in fact in the middle of the day, were walking around in Oslo just to check out where the festival would be. And what happened? Leftfield had their sound check, and "Afrika Shox" was banging from the loudspeakers! Joy and happiness! The mood for the evening was set.

With the experience of the sound check on my mind, I became a bit nervous before the concert. Dunno why, but maybe the feeling of that the long wait was coming to an end was a bit frightening (what if they sucked??). The gig started slowly, but loud. Very loud and heavy bass (thanx heavens for earplugs!) that you really could feel! But when "Afro Left" came banging, everyone went mad and jumped up and down. The the show just rolled on and on, with even harder bass, more lights and excellent tunes. When they finally played the master piece "Afrika Shox" and Afrika Bambaataa was on the video screen (he was not live on stage), everything had just come together and the holy grail had been found!

The most suprising with the show, was the enormous stage presence of the MC Cheshire Cat! Especially during the song Inspection (Check One), you don't have to do much to make the crowd go bananas if you just know how. Here the young wannabe MC's of the world has something to learn.

All in all an exellent gig, and a Holy Grail found!

Here is a few videos from the gig. The first one has shitty sound but if you study it closely you can see the (Music) Tested on Kids... crew jumping up and down!!! The last one is a longer one with ok sound, but for some reason totally red...

Enjoy! (at least I did...=))  <3
